COVID-19 is on everyone’s mind and with the ever-changing guidelines and rules for public venues, we share in the concerns about the health and safety of all those that attend our events as we slowly return to hopefully a normal with the vaccines. For 25 years you have helped GMDAF to provide desperately needed emergency assistance to men, women and children with HIV and AIDS. We remain optimistic that we can continue serving our community through these changing times. We appreciate those individuals, organizations and businesses that continue to donate and support us. The needs are event greater now and our all-volunteer board will continue to work hard at helping emergency situations until we have exhausted our funds.
After careful considerations and discussion, we have made the following updates:
Our bus trip to WinStar Casino, which was originally scheduled for May 8, 2021 has been canceled. We are looking at the possibility of having it this fall. Our new partnership with Premier Transportation, has assured us that every step-in cleaning and preparing the bus will be taken when we can have the event. WinStar Casino has assured us they are doing everything in accordance with and are in total compliance of all CDC, Federal, State and Local health department guidelines.
In Interest of safety for our entertainers, our volunteers, the staff of S4 and our guests, and due to current limitations, MetroBall XV will take place on Friday, June 3, 2022. Tiffany, Jennifer Holliday, Thea Austin, and Chris Chism have all been confirmed for the new date. They are excited about performing in front of live audiences again and will bring a great show to MetroBall. If you have already purchased (or won) tickets for this years’ planned event, we will honor those tickets in 2022. Tickets will go on sale later this year – watch for announcements. David Hearn is working with those who have signed up as sponsors – and lots of sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Additional updates about MetroBall and other events will be forthcoming. For additional information and future updates, please follow GDMAF on Social Media or visit our website: GDMAF.org. FaceBook, Twitter and Snapchat: GDMAF l Instagram: GDMAF.Dallas.
