GDMAF COVID-19 Official Response
APRIL 6, 2020 – DALLAS, TX: The COVID-19(Corona virus) is on everyone’s mind and with the temporary shutdown of public venues, we share in the concerns about the future of not only our events but those of other organizations that help our community. We can already see other non-profits struggling to continue and we are among those exploring every option available. For 25 years you have helped GDMAF to provide desperately needed emergency assistance to men, women and children with HIV and AIDS. We remain optimistic that we can continue serving our community through these uncertain times. We appreciate those individuals, organizations and businesses that continue to donate and support us. The needs are even greater now and our all-volunteer board will continue to work hard at helping in emergency situations until we have exhausted our available funds.
After careful consideration and discussion we have made the following changes:
MetroBall Express: Our bus trip to WinStar Casino will now take place on August 8, 2020. In our new partnership with Premier Transportation we have been assured every step in cleaning and preparing the bus will be taken. WinStar Casino has assured us they are doing everything in accordance with and are in total compliance of all CDC, Federal, State and local health department guidelines.
MetroBall XV: We have selected September 11, 2020 as the new date and will make additional announcements through our social media as necessary. Headline artists and all other details remain unchanged. Station 4 is taking every precaution to maintain a safe and healthy place for all to enjoy. Management has confirmed they are doing everything in compliance with all CDC, Federal, State and local health department guidelines.
