The mission of The Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund is to enhance the lives of people with HIV/AIDS in the North Texas area by providing financial assistance for critical needs when resources are exhausted through other local organizations.
Belinda Carlisle will be the headlining entertainer for MetroBall 2015. The former lead singer for the Go-Go's will perform live with a selection from her successful solo career. Come and join in the fun. It is sure to be "heaven on earth."
MetroBall benefits the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund (GDMAF), a 501c3 organization founded in 1996 whose mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and to those who are unable to receive social services assistance.
The 10th Annual MetroBall will be Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Station 4 nightclub located at 3911 Cedar Springs Road. $30 advance tickets for MetroBall are available online at www.gdmaf.org and at The UPS Store, 3824 Cedar Springs Road in Dallas thru June 4th. Tickets at the door on June 5th will be $35.
Dear Friends of GDMAF, 2014 has been a wonderful year for the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS fund! Because of your contributions and those of the Dallas Bears, DIFFA, the United Court of the Lone Star Empire, AIDS ARMS Lifewalk, DFW Sisters, and other companies throughout North Texas, our fundraising has exceeded any of the past 18 years.
These valuable donations allowed GDMAF to help over 200 clients and their families in North Texas this year, including persons in Ft. Worth. We're proud to announce our new affiliation with AIDS Outreach of Ft. Worth, which has given us the opportunity of expanding the work of helping those in dire need.
While we’re proud of this new relationship, it adds to the number of applications for assistance we receive from North Texas AIDS organizations, from which our funds continue to be depleted before the end of each month.
With that in mind, we hope you will consider making a tax-deductible end-of-year donation allowing us to continue serving those in need, especially during the latter parts of each month.
Consider a few of the individuals living with HIV/AIDS we have assisted this past year:
Client #1 is unable to work due to continuing chemotherapy for cancer. Friends and family have assisted in the past, but are unable to continue financial support. GDMAF provided rent assistance so the client could continue healing at home without facing the fear of homelessness.
Client #2 is a single parent of three, and is unable to work because of medical issues. Due to a reduction in social security, the client had difficulty paying utility bills and faced disconnection of electricity. A member of the GDMAF Board of Directors personally delivered a check to the utility agency to avoid disruption of electricity for the family.
Client #3 could not keep up with the rent after their partner passed away. After being evicted, the client stayed with a woman who stole what little money remained. GDMAF found a stable place for the client to live, and assisted in paying the rental deposit.
Wishing you and yours a Happy and Healthy Holiday and New Year!
